Art was born June 28, 1948, in Dubuque, the son of Francis Daniel and Pauline Mary (Shanahan) Lambe. On November 23, 1974, he married Christine S. Ritchie in Des Moines.
Art went to grade school in a one room schoolhouse, Butler #6, in South Garryowen, where his Aunt Florence McDonnell was his teacher, until he then went Western Dubuque Schools where he graduated in 1967. He then attended Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, MO, for two years. Art worked for John Deere Dubuque Works for 30 years, retiring in 2002.
Art was a member of Church of the Resurrection and was a dues paying member of UAW local 94. In his high school years, he was a great basketball player, making an all state team. Art also loved golfing with his cousins and friends at Fillmore Golf Course and playing baseball in Bernard. He was a Miami Dolphins fan because his cousin, Karl Noonan played for them at one time, he was also a St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan, and an Iowa Hawkeye fan. Art was such a kind hearted man, many neighbors said he was like a father to them. He also had a great love for his nieces and nephews, he would attend many of their games when they were younger and enjoyed taking them on trips.
