Berdena, also known as “Birdie” worked for 42 years at Eagle’s Supermarket on South Locust until she spent another 28 years retired. She enjoyed golfing and traveling in her younger years. She adored her cats, doted on her many nieces and nephews, enjoyed time with family, playing games, and tending to her vegetable garden. She was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her sister, Reva Marie (John) Ogden of Granite City, IL; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Sister-in-law Mary Miller, brother-in-law Mike Kahl.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Dale (Charlotte), Charles, Harley, and Carl (Debbie) Miller; a sister, Norma Miller Kahl; parents, and step mother, Lula Miller.

The Egelhof, Siegert and Casper Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church or Disabled American Veterans.

Extra special thanks to her niece Linda Budde, who loved Berdena like a sister and oversaw much of her care in her later years. Warm thanks to River Bend Retirement and Hospice of Dubuque for your compassion and care.
