Bernard D. Fishnick
Bernard Dale Fishnick of Mountain City, TN, formerly of Dubuque, IA was reunited with his beloved wife on March 11th, 2025. To honor Bernie’s life, friends and family may visit from 9:30 AM to 11 AM on Wednesday, May 28th at Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main St. A funeral service will be held immediately following visitation at 11 AM. A burial will follow at Dubuque Memorial Gardens with full military rites. Behr Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Bernie was born on June 29th, 1944 in Dubuque, IA to the late Bernard and Edna (Davis) Fishnick.
Bernie graduated from Dubuque Senior High School, class of 1962. Upon graduating, Bernie joined the Navy and served his country for 2 years. He also continued serving his country for many years in the Navy Reserves.
Bernie married his beloved wife, Karen (Keck) on November 27th, 1965. Together they were truly blessed with 3 children, a bonus daughter, and 58 wonderful years together. Bernie worked for 31 years at John Deere Dubuque Works, retiring in 1997.
Bernie enjoyed bowling and was a member of the 700 club. He also enjoyed playing horseshoes, traveling, reading, listening to country music, and watching NASCAR and Westerns. Above all, he loved spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, parents, his brother Pat Fishnick Sr., sister-in-law Betty Fishnick, son-in-law Bud Reece and numerous other family members.
The family would like to thank Abundant Christian Living of Johnson City, TN and Hospice of Johnson City Medical Center for the care they provided for their father.
