Beverly J. Usher

Beverly June Usher, 89, of Delmar, Iowa, passed away on Monday, November 11, 2019, at Crestridge Nursing Home in Maquoketa, Iowa.

A celebration of her life will be held at 2 P.M., Monday, November 18, 2019, at Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 1 to 2 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Andrew, Iowa Cemetery.
Beverly June McCutcheon was born on April 30, 1930 in Spragueville, Iowa, to Harry T. and Edith A. (Hemfling) McCutcheon. She attended Andrew Schools. She married Merlin “Toby” Saunders on May 15, 1947 and to this union five children were born, Terrill, Galen, Gary, Susan and Zoe. She then married Lincoln L. Usher on December 24, 1973 in Long Grove, Iowa. Lincoln preceded her in death on March 12, 2017.

Beverly was a homemaker and a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Club Ladies Auxiliary in Maquoketa. She had worked as a volunteer at the Community Center for many years. She enjoyed antiquing, camping, hummingbirds and raising Yorkies. She especially loved spending time with her family.

Those left to honor her memory include her children, Terrill (Shirley) Saunders of Spragueville, IA, Galen (Janet) Saunders of Maquoketa, IA, Gary (Holly) Saunders of French Camp, CA, Susan (Dan) Healey of Spokane, WA, Zoe (Jim) White of Crete, NE; step-child, Wanda (Richard) Tracy of Monmouth, IA; step-daughters-in-law, Kathy Usher of Oxford Junction, IA and Wendy Usher of Menahga, MN; sister, Margaret Rapsilber of Davenport, IA; many grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, brothers Harold and William McCutcheon, step-sons Gary and Ronnie Usher, grandson Luke Saunders (2001), and step-grandson Kenny Hart.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorials may be made to Hospice of Jackson County.
