Bonnie L. Kallenberger

Bonnie L. Kallenberger, 80, of Maquoketa, Iowa, passed away on Friday morning, October 28, 2022, at Maquoketa Care Center in Maquoketa, Iowa.

A private family graveside service and burial celebrating her life will be held at Pence Cemetery, rural Baldwin, Iowa.  Cremation has taken place.  The Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa is caring for the family.

Bonnie Lou Kallenberger was born on November 8, 1941 in Clinton, Iowa, to Amos and Myrtle (Flagel) Kallenberger Sr.  She was a graduate of Maquoketa High School receiving her diploma later in life.  In her younger years she had babysat children and worked as a housekeeper.  She then worked as inspector for Hoffman Eggs in Maquoketa, and later retired from HOOF Products in Maquoketa.

Bonnie enjoyed sewing and making things, loved animals, and was a John Wayne fan.

Those left to honor her memory include her siblings, Rose Liederbach of Maquoketa, IA, Mary Kallenberger of Amboy, WA, Nancy Brewster of Baldwin, IA, and Allen (Cathi) Currie of Washington, IA; sister-in-law, Nancy Currie of Bellevue, IA; and her best friend Ethel Wentworth.  She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Jack and Amos Kallenberger, and Gale Currie, and sisters Margaret Wilburn, Sharon Currie, and Barbara Currie.
