Mom, the one who does all the things for all the people and loves them unconditionally.

Carol Marie King, a beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend passed away on Sunday, October 1, 2023, at the age of 63, after a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished moments.

Born on November 9, 1959, to Lynn and Dorothy (Brennan) Paulson. Carol Marie King grew up alongside her two brothers, Dean Paulson (Becky, Clayton, and Keith) and Randy Paulson (Sean and Scott) in East Dubuque.  She attended East Dubuque High School and later Clarke College.

She married Kraig King in 1979 and had a daughter Tanya King Floyd (Hunter and Liviana) in 1980.  Although they did not stay married, Carol remained close with Kraig until his passing in 2019 and was dear friends with her sister-in-law Mary Jo King.

Carol Marie King met Doug Schneider in 1993, and they spent nearly 30 years together.  Carol loved boating and being on the river. She loved animals, especially dogs, and raised many happy labs. She was tiny but tough and overcame many challenges. She loved music, gardening, and spending time with friends, Sharon Harris and Joni Kruser. She was a proud grandmother to Liviana Lee Floyd.

A celebration of Carol Marie King’s life will be announced soon, where friends and family will be invited to join in commemorating the life she lived.

Rest in peace, dear mama.  You will be missed, and your spirit will live on in our hearts.
