Carol P. Carr, 84, of Monmouth, IA, passed away Friday, July 31, 2026, at home in Monmouth.

Carol Pauline Hute was born January 25, 1942, in Maquoketa, Iowa, to Elmer and Daisy (Clark) Hute.  She graduated from Maquoketa High School with the Class of 1960.  Carol married James Carr in 1959.  He passed away August 5, 1983.  She later married Allen Wayne Carr of February 14, 1984, in Dubuque, Iowa.

Carol worked at Crestridge Nursing Home and the Pacific Feather Factory in Maquoketa.  Together, Carol and James owned and worked at the Coloma Inn in Monmouth.  Carol enjoyed trips to Dubuque trying her luck gambling at the riverboats.  She was an avid sports fan, enjoying watching basketball and golf.  Carol also enjoyed being outdoors, especially camping with her family.

Those left to honor her memory include her children Rick (Cindy) Carr of Burleson, TX, LeeAnn Clark of Cascade, IA, and Connie Carr of Shullsburg, WI; her stepchildren Penny (Doug) McCoy of Durant, IA, and Nichole McCoy of Walcott, IA; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.
