Carole A. Carpenter

Carole Anne Carpenter, 75, of Dubuque, died Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at the Sunset Park Place Senior Living in Dubuque.

A prayer service will be held at 4:00 pm Monday, June 16, 2025 at Hoffmann Schneider & Kitchen Funeral Home & Crematory followed by visitation until 7:00 pm.

The Mass of Christian Burial for Carole will be at 10:00 am Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at Holy Spirit Parish – Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Steven Garner as the Celebrant. Burial will be at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Dubuque.

Carole was born July 11, 1949, in Dubuque, the daughter of Mathias Martin and Anna Mae (Gourley) Hoffmann. Her mother later married Robert “Bob” Becker, who raised her as his own.

She graduated from Dubuque Senior High School in 1968, and worked in the trucking industry at H & W Motor Express.

Carole had a creative spirit and enjoyed painting, sewing, and a wide range of arts and crafts.  An avid baker she was famous for her Christmas fudge and cookies.  She also loved music and often found joy in listening to her favorite Elvis songs.

Survivors include her two sons, Brian (Jolene) Carpenter of Dubuque, and Bill (Molly) Carpenter of Peosta; eight grandchildren, Kayla Carpenter, Jonathan Carpenter, Anna Kane, Matthew Carpenter, Jennifer Carpenter, Billy Carpenter, Michelle Carpenter, Brock Carpenter; sister, Debbie (Dave) Krug; sister-in-law, Judy Hoffmann; nieces and nephews, Rob (Tootie) Hoffmann, Nathan Hoffmann, Nick Krug, Natalie (Shane) Weirda, and Rebecca Stover, who was also her goddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Herbert Hoffmann, and one sister, Joan “Peaches” Stover.

A memorial has been established for Power of Prayer in Carole’s name.
