Clarence C. Quint

Clarence C. Quint, 94, of Manchester, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, September 25, 2018, at the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester. He was born on November 3, 1923, near Worthington, the son of Joseph and Margaret (Bonert) Quint. He was raised and educated in the area.

On November 18, 1947, Clarence was united in marriage to Eleanor Manternach at St. Mary Catholic Church in Cascade. Five daughters were born to this union. Together they farmed near Ryan and Prairieburg. In 1958, they moved to a farm near Dundee. Clarence retired in 1984, and they moved to Manchester.

Clarence was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Manchester. He enjoyed farming, gardening, flowers, working in his apple orchard, and woodworking. He also loved spending time with his family.

Survivors include his five daughters, Joann (Dick) Hartman, Donna (George) Puffett, and Janet (Ken) Burns, all of Manchester, Doris (Jim) Koopmann of Dyersville, and Julie (Jim) Kennedy of Ogden; 17 grandchildren, Karen Hartman, Dave Hartman, Kathy (Scot) Ruby, Toby (Amy) Hartman, Mary (Tony) Zieser, Herb (Kim) Hartman, Nick (Joni) Puffett, Jay Puffett, Cindy (Dan) Funke, Sherri (Andy) Olsen, Scott (Erin) Burns, Susan (John) Barrett, Ryan (Lynnette) Koopmann, Brieanna (Clint) Hilkin, and Megan, Nathan, and Lauren Kennedy; 23 great-grandchildren; one sister, Catherine (John) McQuillen of Marion; two sisters-in-law, Mary Quint and Elaine Vaske; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other in-laws.

Clarence was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor, in 2008; his parents; two sisters, Mary (Jerry) and Loretta (Art) Vaske; and three brothers, Lawrence, Vernon (Catherine), and Sylvester Quint.

Mass of Christian Burial:11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 1, 2018, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Manchester, with Reverend Dennis Quint, Reverend Neil Manternach, and Reverend Gabriel Anderson as concelebrants.

Visitation: 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 30, 2018, at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home in Manchester. Friends may also call from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. on Monday at the church.
