Clint P. Tarnutzer, age 64, of Dubuque, passed away peacefully at home on May 20, 2025, with family by his side.  To celebrate Clint’s life, family and friends may visit from 9:00 a.m. until 11:15 a.m. on Friday, May 23, 2025, at Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main Street.  Funeral services will be held following visitation at 11:30 a.m., on Friday at the Behr Funeral Home, with Deacon David Roth officiating.  Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Clint was born on August 11, 1960, in Dubuque, Iowa, the son of Donald Paul and Lois Marie (Ott) Tarnutzer.

Clint was hard working, loved his garden, his family and being outside.  He loved to cook for friends and family, making sure no one ever left hungry.  He always smiled when little kids were around, he loved watching them laugh and play.  Clint worked at Rite Hite for 25 years, The Pit Stop Bar and Grill, and worked at other places bartending and cooking over the years.  He will be greatly missed.

Daniel Lawrence Hess, James Arthur Hess and Stacy Marie Hess-Marcov, along with several kids and grandkids;

a brother,
Craig (Sherrie) Tarnutzer, Denver, CO;

a niece and nephew,
Taryn (Ryan) Bates Sr. and Nicholas (Tiffany) Tarnutzer Sr.;

and his great nephews,
Ryan Jr., T.J. and Nicholas Jr.

Clint was preceded in death by his parents and an Uncle Lyle Ott.

Clint’s family would like to thank Dr. Cheryl Morgan, the staff and nurses of the Mercy Cancer Center and Hospice of Dubuque for their outstanding care and support.
