To honor Connie’s life, funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Wednesday, September 5, 2018, at Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main Street, with Deacon John Stierman officiating. To celebrate Connie’s life, family and friends may visit from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., on Tuesday, September 4, 2018, at Behr Funeral Home. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery.
Connie was born on January 7, 1960, in Dubuque, daughter of John and Kathleen (Plumley) Walsh.
Connie was proud to have spent her entire life as a Dubuquer; surrounded by family and friends through each and every day. Growing up in a family of 8 children, she quickly learned the values of family fun and commitment. She would eventually meet her soul-mate, Dennis Perry, and the couple was united in marriage on September 24, 1982, in Tulsa, OK. They would be blessed with 35 wonderful years together, and 4 truly adored children, before Connie was sadly called home much to early. When Connie wasn’t spending time with her family, you could easily find her working at Linwood Cemetery where she faithfully gave her all over the years. But, her greatest joy was always found back home with her family. Her love continued to grow as she watched her 12 grandchildren join the world. Spending time with them quickly evolved into regular camping trips to Massey Station, where the fish soon learned that they were not safe when the Perry clan was spending the weekend. Connie also enjoyed a little traveling outside of the Dubuque area from time to time, and her trips to the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville, dipping her toes in the ocean in Florida, and a little gambling in Mississippi were among her favorites. We are beyond saddened today with the now all so real absence of Connie from our daily lives. Thankfully though, all who knew and loved her are left with an abundance of memories to cherish through the years ahead. We thank you Connie for all the love you shared along your 58 year earthly journey. We will miss you more than you know, remember you more fondly than you can imagine, and forever be grateful for the time we had with such a bright shining star walking among us. May God keep you safe in His loving arms until we meet again!
