Daniel Joseph Herrig, 61 of Dubuque passed away Wednesday, November 3, 2021.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 11:30 am Saturday, November 6, 2021, at Saint Joseph the Worker with Fr. Thomas McDermott officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 until time of services at the church. The Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.

Dan was born on November 14, 1959, in Dubuque the son of Arnold and Thelma (Kingsley) Herrig. He attended Dubuque Senior High School and worked at both the Diamond Jo and the Q Casino’s.

He was an avid sports fan especially of the Iowa Hawkeyes, Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears.

He is survived by his siblings Debbie Herrig, Steve Herrig, Denise (Alvy) Kennedy, Jon Herrig, Dawn Rannals all of Dubuque, Dean Herrig of Carmel IN, and Doreen Lightfoot of Hazelton, IA, a sister-in-law Amanda Herrig of Dubuque, 11 nieces and 8 nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Jude Herrig.

In lieu of flowers a Daniel Herrig memorial fund has been established.
