Daniel J. Mootz
Daniel J. Mootz, 68, of Cuba City, Wisconsin, died Wednesday, January 16, 2019, at Southwest Health Center Hospital in Platteville.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 19, 2019, at St. Rose of Lima Church in Cuba City with Rev. Bernard Rott officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 3-8 p.m. Friday at Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City. Friends may also call from 9-10:15 a.m. Saturday at the church before the service.
Dan was born on April 14, 1950, in Dubuque, Iowa, the son of Glenn A. and Mildred A. (Pfeiler) Mootz. He married Tracy Klaas on November 8, 1974, in Dubuque. Dan, a meticulous master carpenter, was self employed.
Dan enjoyed ice fishing, deer hunting, gardening, going to the lake in Winter, Wisconsin, going to the casino on Thursdays with Tracy, and watching the Packers. He enjoyed time spent in his shop. A treasure hunter, he liked finding antique tools and other treasures. Dan especially loved his grandchildren and time spent with them.
Survivors include his wife, Tracy; a daughter, Tana Mootz, Benton; a son, Jason (Pam) Mootz, Cuba City; five grandchildren, Devin Mootz, Kailie Mootz-Redfearn, Erika Mootz-Redfearn, and Krystal and Brayden Knox; his siblings, Ron (Kathy) Mootz, Dave (special friend, Carol) Mootz and Sue (Chris) Lovell; his in-laws, Gladys Klaas, Mary White, Nancy (Bud) Loeffelholz, Grace Brummer, Frank (Mary) Klaas, Mert (Skip) Banfield, Click (Bev) Klaas and Joan Klaas; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn Mootz, and Mildred and George Robbins; a brother, Tom Mootz; and his in-laws, John Klaas, Darlene Klaas, Marlene Klaas and Jim White.
