David P. Steiner

David Paul Steiner, 88, of Maquoketa, Iowa, passed away on Friday morning, November 14, 2025, at the Jackson County Regional Health Center in Maquoketa.

David Paul Steiner was born on April 16, 1937, in Lost Nation, Iowa, to Dr. Paul and Esther (Mohr) Steiner.  He was a graduate of Lost Nation High School.  He married Marlana Fae Weets on September 20, 1955, in Maquoketa, Iowa.  Two children were born to this union, Sharon and Kevin.

David had worked at Clinton Engines in Maquoketa, and later Caterpillar in Mount Joy as a machinist.  He then worked as a tool and die maker for GDI Industries in Maquoketa.

David loved hunting, fishing, mushrooming, gardening, and spending time outdoors.

Those left to honor his memory include his children, Sharon Steiner of Lost Nation, IA, and Kevin Steiner Sr. of Sierra Vista, AZ; several grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

A graveside service celebrating his life will be held at 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at Smithtown Cemetery, rural Lost Nation, Iowa.  Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 P.M., Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa.
