David R. Blaser Sr., 72, of Dubuque, passed away Friday, January 4, 2019.

Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, January 8, at Hoffmann Schneider Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1640 Main St., Dubuque, where there will be a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, January 8, at St. Anthony Catholic Church. Rev. Steven Rosonke will officiate. Interment will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery.

David was born January 1, 1947 in Dubuque, the son of Ralph and Hilda (Steffen) Blaser. He married Irene Wall on October 7, 1967. David enjoyed camping and going out to eat. He was a real people person, who loved meeting new friends and could talk to anyone about anything. David was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and he deeply loved his family.

David is survived by his wife, Irene; three children, Tammy (Jon Sauser) Berntgen of Farley, David (Trisha) Blaser Jr., and Tracy (Jasen) Otting, both of Dubuque; his grandchildren, C.J., Cassie, Allison, Ashley, Jade, Bailey, Madisyn, Landon, and Ellie Kate; one great grandchild, Roman; his sister Judy Bodish of Zwingle; his sister-in-law, Margaret Blaser; his in-laws, Karen, Jim (Kay), Connie, Judy (Joe), Stevie, Tom (Kathy), Rita (Dave), and Lisa; and his loving canine companions, Zeek and Molly.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Tina; his brother, Ron Blaser; and his brothers-in-law, Joseph and Jerry.
