Donna Dailey, 93, of Dubuque, Iowa passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 9th, 2026, at Luther Manor.  Per Donna’s wishes, no services will be held. Private entombment will be at Mount Calvary Cemetery. Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, Dubuque, Iowa, is assisting the family.

Donna was born on December 21, 1932, in Dubuque, Iowa the daughter of Joseph and Celestine “Sally” (Manders) Althaus and was raised on the family farm in Zwingle.

Donna started her working journey as a waitress at the Packet Room, then moved on to the Chateau Supper Club and ended her career at Bishops.

From an early age, Donna developed a love for reading and was especially fond of historical romances, Danielle Steel novels, and a wide variety of other books. If you couldn’t find Donna, she was somewhere with her nose in a book. Later in life she enjoyed putting puzzles together while listening to Johnny Cash.

Those left to honor her memory are two children: Janine Bergman and Tony Dailey and one grandson Andy Bergman. Siblings: LeRoy (Dorothy) Althaus and Richard (Linda) Althaus

She was preceded in death by her parents Joe and Sally Althaus; sister and brother-in-law Janet (Dean) Boyes; in-laws Earl (Maude) Dailey.

The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff at MercyOne Medical Center, Luther Manor and Hospice of Dubuque for all their compassionate care.
