Donna Mae graduated from the former Immaculate Conception High School, Dubuque, in 1948.
Donna Mae was a gifted quilter, found joy in reading, tending to her flowers, and baking for family functions. Some of her fondest memories were made on fishing trips up north with loved ones; along with her daughter-in-law, she always had breakfast waiting when everyone returned from the lake in the early mornings. A devoted Cubs fan, Donna Mae also loved watching college basketball and never missed an episode of Jeopardy, her family knew better than to call between 3:00 and 4:00 pm.
Survivors include her three children, Steve (Barb) Jaeger of Dubuque, Jane Jaeger of Dubuque, and Mary Kay (Tom) Walsh of Bettendorf, IA; five grandchildren, Michael (Laura) Walsh, Daniel (Kerry) Walsh, Sarah Walsh, Tony (Bridget) Jaeger, and Greg (Tabitha) Jaeger; nine great-grandchildren, Ruthie and Eddie Walsh, Blake, Kenley, Lane, Maggie, John, James, and Eva Jaeger; two brothers, Eugene (Fay) Hansen and Richard Hansen both of Dubuque, IA; and brother-in-law, Gary Summers.
Besides her parents and husband, Donna Mae was preceded in death by two sisters, Virginia and Mary Catherine in infancy.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt Thank You to Hospice of Dubuque for their compassionate care.
