Dorothy A. Brady, 92, of Maquoketa, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, October 27, 2022, at The Summit in Bettendorf, Iowa.

A celebration of her life will be held at 11:30 A.M., Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa.  Visitation will be held prior to the funeral from 10 A.M. to 11:15 A.M. at the funeral home.  Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery, Maquoketa, Iowa.

Dorothy was born on October 19, 1930 in Iowa.  She married Harold Brady on June 1, 1968 in Maquoketa, Iowa.

Dorothy had first worked at Clinton Engines in Maquoketa on the assembly line and later for Bliss Eagle Signal in Davenport.

Dorothy enjoyed sewing and was an avid supporter of the Democratic Party.

Those left to honor her memory include her children, Wilfred Michael “Wil” (Katherine) Carew of Cedar Rapids, IA, James David (Donna) Carew of Iowa City, Iowa, and Susie (Les) Shollenberger of Davenport, IA; 3 grandchildren, Erin (Damon) Strickland, Nicholas (Joalene) Carew and Tyler Shollenberger; 2 great-grandchildren, Evan and Paige Strickland; and 3 step-great-grandchildren, Audrey, Ellie and Livian Grissel.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a Dorothy A. Brady memorial fund has been established.
