Dorothy was born on September 12, 1924, in Wheeler, Wisconsin, daughter of Victor and Allie (Root) Baker.
Dorothy graduated from Augusta High School in Augusta, Wisconsin, and then attended LPN schooling. She worked as an LPN at Finley Hospital for 23 years until her retirement. Dorothy married John Gross on February 25, 1944, and they had a wonderful family. He sadly passed away on December 11, 1973. She later found love again and married George Bogarth on August 18, 1979, but he too preceded her in death on March 21, 2012. She was a faith filled woman who was a member of Grandview Methodist Church. In her free time, Dorothy enjoyed reading, knitting, sodoku puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, crossword puzzles and spending time with family. Dorothy also spent time with the family fishing. She loved cooking and baking and always had homemade bread and wonderful desserts on hand. Some of her favorite activities were family picnics and having guests over for dinner and card playing. Dorothy has lived a long and wonderful life. She has faced challenges and experienced great happiness in her 101 years. She was an excellent wife, mom, grandma, sister and great-grandma several times over. We will miss her positive attitude and beautiful smile.
