Earnestine Walker

Evangelist Earnestine Walker born on October 10, 1950, to the late Fannie B. Smith in Mississippi.  Our beloved mother departed this life December 17, 2025. Christianity was the centerpiece of the Walker family. She gave her life to Christ under the leadership of Pastor Frank Howard in Moorhead, Mississippi. She also served  at Evangelistic Church of God in Christ in Freeport , IL, Faith Temple Church of God in Christ in Hayti, MO, Open Door Mission Church of God in Christ in Freeport, IL, and Pentecostal Tabernacle Church of God in Christ in Beloit, WI. After moving to Iowa, she joined Promised Land Ministries Church of God in Christ in Dubuque, Iowa, under the leadership of Pastor Victor Evans.

Evangelist Walker was a wife, mother, a grandmother and great grandmother. She was a teacher, an Evangelist, a songstress, a seamstress and a groundskeeper. She enjoyed going to church, singing the songs of Zion, bringing a Word, and talking about looking and living holy. She had no problem witnessing to and helping those around her.  She did not mind cooking or keeping the church or any other place clean. Whenever she saw something out of place, you would see her moving it, wiping off counters and tables, looking for a broom or mop, and singing as she cleaned without complaining.  She will truly be missed by all who loved her. In whatever condition she was in, she was Mother Evangelist Walker; she was unique, and there was none like her.

Evangelist Walker leaves to cherish her memories to her 10 children John Williams, Sarah Davis, Nathaniel (Deontae) Williams, Leroy (Patricia) Williams, Ellis Williams, Lawanda Williams, Wd Walker Jr, Dorothy Walker, and Thelma Greenwood(all of Dubuque, IA) Michael (Cari) Williams  (of Freeport, IL), her brother Willie Brown (of Aurora, IL), a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

She heeded God’s call and joined her parents, husband Wd Walker Sr,  her siblings Chief Apostle Lena Mae Sellers Malinda Sumner, James Brown, Bobbie Weeks, Roosevelt Weeks, Michael Weeks, Pecola Pruitt, and J.D. Brown Sharon Weeks, and daughter Michelle Brooks.

Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, Dubuque, Iowa assisted the family.
