Edward John Hebert, 67, of Galena, IL passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 13, 2023, at Mercy One, Dubuque, IA. A funeral mass will be held at 11 AM, Thursday, October 26, 2023, at St. Michael Catholic Church, Galena where friends may gather after 10 AM until the time of service. The burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Dubuque, IA. Cremation rites have been accorded. The Furlong Funeral Chapel, Galena is assisting the family.

He was born June 21, 1956, in Savanna, IL, the son of Emery and Rita (Baker) Hebert. Ed attended Hanover High School, in Hanover, IL. He later attended Cosmetology, Massage, and Certified Nursing Assistant training, earning his certificate in all three. Ed worked for many years for Galena Stauss Senior Care Community, Assisted Living, and Adult Day Care. He also worked giving massage therapy in his free time. Ed enjoyed going for walks, visiting with friends and family, shopping at the stores in downtown Galena, and going to the Casino. He loved spending Holidays with friends and family.

He is survived by two sisters, Betty Wurster of Elizabeth, IL, Bonnie (Doug) Folks of Galena, one brother, Richard (Charlotte) Hebert of Woodbine, IL, five nephews, three nieces, eight great nieces, and four great-nephews.

His parents, a brother Tommy, and a sister Carol preceded him in death.
