Eileen Marie Jackson, 89, of Maquoketa, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Friday morning, January 16, 2026, at Wheatland Manor in Wheatland, Iowa.

Eileen Marie Roberts was born on June 30, 1936 in Le Claire, Iowa, to Ellis Jessie and Helen Marie (Sallow) Roberts.  She grew up in Le Claire, and married Donald Jackson on January 15, 1954 in LeClaire, Iowa.  Four children were born to this union, Dawn, Diana, Denise, and Donna.

Eileen’s professional life was marked by her employment as a chef’s assistant and cook at the Davenport Country Club, where she dedicated over 30 years of service.

Outside of work, Eileen found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She was an avid gardener, with a particular fondness for her flower garden, and her yard was a testament to her love for nature and her green thumb.

Those left to honor her memory include her children, Diana (James) Thomas of Hodgenville, KY, Denise (Steven) Guenther of Chattanooga, TN, and Donna Sweeney of Sparta, WI; 7 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Barbara Buchanan of Rock Island, IL; brother, J.R. Roberts of TX; and a son-in-law, Steven Cobert of Ghent, KY.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Donald in June of 1993, a daughter Dawn Cobert, and 2 grandchildren, Brian Thomas, and Timothy Thomas.

A gathering of family and friends celebrating Eileen’s life will be held from 12 to 2 P.M., Wednesday, January 21, 2026, in “The Bistro” at the Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa.  A private family burial will be held at a later date at the Glendale Cemetery, Le Claire, Iowa.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorials may be made to Camp Courageous of Iowa, or the Jackson County Humane Society.
