Elaine M. Molony
Elaine M. Molony, 91, of Key West, formerly of Otter Creek, passed away on August 23, 2025, at University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa. She had resided near Key West for the past 20 years and prior to that had lived in Jackson County on the family farm near Otter Creek, Iowa with her husband Daniel “Patrick” Molony.
Friends and family may visit from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 29, 2025, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, North Garryowen.
Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at the church with Very Rev. Michael G. Schueller officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road, is assisting the family.
Elaine was born on August 6, 1935, to Albert and Gerturde (McCarthy) Beauchamp in rural Jackson County and spent her early years with her sisters Monica and Veronica, and her brother Charles on the family farm. She graduated from St. Joseph’s Academy in Dubuque, Iowa. In November 1958, Elaine and Daniel P. were married in Dubuque and subsequently relocated to Oregon, Wisconsin. Following several years in Wisconsin, the family relocated to a farm in Jackson County, Iowa. During those years she participated in farm life and raising children and took on a role in the veterinary office of D.W. Yanda in Maquoketa, Iowa. Concluding twenty years of work with Dr. Yanda, she retired and spent time with her husband constructing two homes in the Key West area of Dubuque County. She enjoyed socializing with friends over card games and conversation.
Elaine is survived by her remaining children, Patrick Molony, Erin Molony, Timothy Molony and Luke Molony, and five grandchildren.
Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Shawn, and daughter Mary Ellen.
