Elizabeth J. “Betty” Garvey, 90, of Dubuque, passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at Mercy Medical Center.

Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 11, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, where visitation will be from 9:30 until the time of Mass. Msgr. Thomas Toale will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery.

Betty was born February 22, 1929 in Dubuque, the daughter of John and Elizabeth (Ries) Majerus. She married Earl Garvey on May 5, 1951.

Betty was a longtime member of St. Patrick Catholic Church.

Betty is survived by her sister in law, Rose Majerus; her nieces and nephews, Ken Majerus of Dubuque, Tina (Virgil) Kohagen of Waterloo, Pam (Kevin) Hall of Cedar Falls, and Tim (Laura) Majerus of East Dubuque, IL; and several great nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, John Majerus and James Majerus; and two sisters, Katie Meyer and Virginia Lindquist.
