The Graveside Committal Service and Interment for Forrestt will be 10:30 am Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at Linwood Cemetery, led by Father Martin Coolidge.

Forrestt was born October 13, 1979, in Dubuque, IA, the son of Judson and Karen Emerson Clark. He attended Dubuque Senior High School. On September 14, 2006, he married Bridget Mary Hurm in Cathedral of St. Raphael in Dubuque. After years of hoping for a child, in 2011, they were blessed with their daughter, Dorothy aka Monkey. She was the light of his life.

Known for his culinary skills, Forrestt worked as a cook in several area restaurants. These included Ground Round, where he met his future wife, Bridget; Timmerman’s Supper Club for 10 years; L. May for eight years; and, most recently, The 3 Mile House for the last six years.

Forrestt had a wide range of interests that brought him joy throughout his life. He loved reading, fishing and shooting with Dorothy, and spending time with family over a good meal. A talented craftsman, he enjoyed forging knives and tinkering in the garage, and he was an avid gun collector. He enjoyed golfing and his Monday night golf league at Tacoma with his partner, Scott. He also loved a good conversation, especially over a beer at his favorite watering hole, The Northside. Music was important to him, always playing whether he was in the garage, or sitting on the patio.

Survivors include his wife, Bridget; his daughter, Dorothy Ada, at home; his father, Judson of Dubuque; his mother, Karen Vogt of Portugal; two sisters, Heather (Bob) Clark of Poynette, WI and Marlene (Eric) Johnson of Grinnell, IA; two step-brothers, Paul (Kim) Goranson of Sherrill and Timothy (Melissa) Goranson of Dubuque; his siblings-in-law, Jessica (Dan) Hurm-Abresch, Meggan (Brandon) Merrick, Peter (Renae Hubbard) Hurm, Abigail (Eric) Degenhardt, Molly (Aren) Merrick, Martin (Lindsy) Hurm, and Patrick (Anna) Hurm, all of Dubuque; his nieces and nephews, Max, Jack, and Lily Kemp, Elliot and Noah Dobson, Cameron Merrick, Wyatt, Ryder, Flynn, and Willow Hurm, Rosalyn and Gilbert Degenhardt, Christian and Alexandria Merrick, Gabriel and Hudson Hurm, Finley, Lola, and Tripp Hurm, Grace and Grant Goranson, and Evelyn Goranson.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Paul and Ruth Clark and Doug and Nancy Ager, one uncle, Christian Clark, and his father- and mother-in-law, Matthew and Diane Hurm.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for Dorothy’s education.
