Gary J. Rambousek
Gary Joseph Rambousek, 85, of Aitkin, MN formerly of Dubuque, IA died Monday, July 27, 2026, at St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Brainerd, MN.
Visitation will be from 9:00 am until 10:45 am Wednesday August 5, 2026 at Church of the Resurrection.
The Mass of Christian Burial for Gary will be at 11:00 am on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at Church of the Resurrection. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery in Dubuque.
Gary was born July 30, 1940, in Waterloo, IA, the son of Joseph and Pauline (Fischer) Rambousek. On September 3, 1960, he married the love of his life, Patricia (Lester) in Church of the Nativity in Dubuque.
Gary worked for John Deere Dubuque Works for 43.5 years prior to his retirement.
He was actively involved in his community, serving as president of the Dubuque Conservation Society, was a Scout leader, and a member of UAW Local 94. He found great joy in the outdoors and enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, boating, and traveling. He enjoyed watching old westerns and John Wayne movies. Gary was also a devoted fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Green Bay Packers. Above all else, he cherished the time he spent with his family, who were the center of his life.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia of Aitkin, MN; five children, Gary Jr., Randy, Troy (Amy), Kristin, and Nicholas (Katie); 14 grandchildren, Joe (Ashley), Andy (Angie), Megan, Michael, Reagan (CJ), Max (Aubrey), Natalie, Ethan, Patrick, Garrett, Carter, Kendal, Kobe, and Myles; six great-grandchildren, Mason, Mya, Lincoln, Theodore, Adalynn, and Preslee; daughters-in-law, Julie and Barbara Rambousek; and his furbaby, Pepper.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Russell; brothers, Robert and James; sister, Jean Miller; and in-laws, Paul and Catherine Neyens.
