Gloria J. Pline, age 93, of Dubuque, passed away at 11:40 a.m., on Thursday, April 11, 2024, at Stonehill Health Center surrounded by her loving family.  To honor Gloria’s life, family and friends may visit from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., on Monday, April 15, 2024, at Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main Street, where there will be a parish scripture held at 3:45 p.m.  Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at Holy Spirit Parish, Sacred Heart Church, 2215 Windsor Avenue, with Rev. Steven M. Garner officiating.  Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Gloria was born on November 28, 1930, in Dubuque, Iowa, daughter of Alvy and Evelyn (Roeder) Kennedy.

Gloria graduated from Dubuque Senior High School, Class of 1948.  She was married to Ronald R. Pline by Msgr. Kerper at Nativity Church in Dubuque on September 20, 1949.  They had a large family and spent many happy years together before Ron passed away on February 9, 2010.  Gloria was a wonderful wife and mom who also worked as the manager of food service at Luther Manor, retiring on April 6, 1996.  In her younger years Gloria was a Girl Scout leader and directed Brownie Camp.  She loved being outdoors and she and Ron traveled to Yellowstone National Park from 1989 – 2009, where they participated in the Geyser Observation Study Association program.  Her last trip to Yellowstone was in 2010 with her daughter, Kathy.  In her later years Gloria liked going to Eagle Point Park, “people watching”, reading and trying her luck at the casino.  Her family was always her top priority in life, and each and every member knew how special they were to her.  Gloria was a great woman and will be tremendously missed!!

Gloria was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ronald Pline; 3 sons, Thomas Pline, Bill (Deb and Lou) Pline and Jim Pline; 3 grandsons, Wade Pline, Spencer Pline and Zachary Pline; a great-grandson, Reid Pline; a son-in-law, Craig Olson: 2 brothers, Richard “Skip” Kennedy and Alvy Kennedy Jr.; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Reuben and Alberta Pline; and her in-laws, Sandra and Bill Gassman and Dick Breithaupt.

Gloria’s family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at UnityPoint Health Finley Hospital, Stonehill and Hospice of Dubuque for the outstanding care they have provided for Gloria.
