Gloria M. Medinger

Gloria M. (Kueter) Medinger, 88, of Bellevue, passed away on Friday, October 4, 2024 at her home surrounded by her children.

Funeral Mass will be 10:00 am, Thursday, October 10, 2024 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Bellevue.  Visitation will be 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm, Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at Hachmann-Mier Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Bellevue, additional visitation will be 8:30 am – 9:30 am on Thursday prior to Mass at the funeral home.  Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery.

Gloria was born November 24, 1935, the daughter of Leo and Rosetta (Fischer) Kueter.  She graduated from St. Joseph’s Catholic High School in 1954 where she played basketball and played softball for the Bellevue Bells.  Gloria married Richard J. Medinger on November 27, 1954, he passed on July 15, 2023.  She enjoyed bowling, dancing, gardening and spending time with her family.  Gloria was switch board operator, home daycare provider, and was the head cook at Bellevue Community Schools for over 30 years before retiring. She enjoyed attending her grandchildren and great-grandchildren extracurricular activities.

Survivors include her children, Mark (Donna) Medinger, Jim (Connie) Medinger, Joan (John) Theisen, Sandy (Stan) Kueter, Chuck (Penny) Medinger, and Cindy (Randy) Blake; 22 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; siblings, Phyllis Schwager Thomas Kueter, Joseph (Nancy) Kueter, Martha Rheingans, Dennis (Vicki) Kueter, and Sue (Bill) Griebel; brothers and sisters in-law, Phyllis Yeager, Mary (Dennis) Guenther, Betty (Bill) Meyer, Donna Medinger; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Gloria was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard; a son, John Medinger; a grandson, Scott Theisen; sisters, Mary (Allen) Kilburg and Darla (Stanley) Sturm; brothers and sisters in-law, Wayne Rheingans, Wilfred Schwager, Mary Lois Kueter, Bernard “Junior” Medinger, Velma (Les) Benesch, Don (Doris) Medinger, Art Yeager, and Don David.

A memorial fund has been established in Gloria’s memory.
