Hermie was born on April 13, 1933, in North Buena Vista, Iowa, son of Albert and Lucy (Riniker) Kloser.
Hermie was born and raised in North Buena Vista where he worked on the farm from the time he was young. He was drafted during the Korean War, into the U.S. Army, and would honorably serve his country for 4 years. When Hermie returned home he would return to farming and marry the love of his life, Mathilda “Tillie” Juran, on August 2, 1958, at the Immaculate Conception Church in Buenie. The two were blessed with 4 children and 59 wonderful years together before Tillie was sadly called home ahead of him on April 2, 2018. Hermie’s faith was always a very important aspect of his daily life and he was a long time member of Sacred Heart Church after he and Tillie moved to Dubuque. In their younger days every Saturday nightwas “date” night for the adorable couple, and they could be found out on the town dancing the night away. In later years, Hermie found that he enjoyed relaxing and sitting down to watch a good western movie or tv show. Family, however, meant the world to Hermie, and he loved spending time with everyone whenever the opportunity arose. We are deeply saddened at the loss of the patriarch of our family today, but take some comfort in knowing that he and his loving bride are now reunited on that big dance floor in the sky for all Eternity.
