James C. Havertape, 77, of Rockford, Illinois passed away peacefully on Friday, June 9, 2023 at SwedishAmerican Hospital. Born November 2, 1945 in Janesville, WI. He married Sheila Jocsing on November 30, 1968. They were blessed to have 54 years together. Jim was in sales for Cleveland Cotton Products. In retirement, he worked at Swanhills Golf Course, enjoying many rounds of golf with friends Dick Williams and Marv Cairns. He was an avid Packer fan. A long-time member of St. Bridget Catholic Church.

James is survived by his wife, Sheila; sons, Brad (Katie) and grandchildren, Ella and Ethan, and Craig (Leanne) and grandchildren, Jake and Courtney; sisters, Mary (Tim) Barrett and Linda (Joe) Weber; brothers, Mike (Kathy) and George (Roz); brother-in-law, Hap Bergsten; sister-in-law, Mary Jo Havertape; and many good friends and neighbors.

Predeceased by parents; Cletus and Evelyn; special aunt and uncle, Helen and Clarence; sisters, Pat Wallenhorst and Judy Bergsten; and brother, Jack.

Per Jim’s wishes, there will be no services. Cremation rites to be accorded.
