James E. “Jim” Cupps, 72, of Dubuque, IA, passed away at home on August 24, 2026, at his home.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Rd, is assisting the family.

Jim was born July 29, 1954, in Dubuque, IA, the son of  Gerald and Virginia (Schumacher) Cupps.

Jim graduated from Wahlert High School and worked at Georgia Pacific, and Giese Roofing.

He was a good man, he enjoyed hunting deer with his friends, and the peace of fishing. He worked hard all his life, and was loved by his family.

Jim is survived by his brothers, Gene (Vickie) Cupps, and Joe (Sheree) Cupps; and sister, Jackie (Dave) Kieffer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister Carol Maas.
