James “Baldy’ Fields, 86, passed away Saturday, October 5, 2019.

A private family gathering will be held on Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in Monticello, Iowa.

Jim was born December 19, 1932 in Maquoketa, Iowa, son of Melvin and Grace (Dague) Copus. He married Lavonnie “Bonnie” Appleby on November 23, 1950 at St. Martin’s Catholic Church in Cascade,Iowa. Bonnie preceded him in death on January 9, 2005.

Surviving are his children, Gail (John) Koppes of Onslow, IA, Dennis (Georgia) Fields of Mills, IA, Joyce (Bob) Stoffel of Bernard, IA, Judy (Don) Supple of Cascade, IA, Michael Fields of Anamosa, IA, Jerry Fields (& Juan Vega) of Coggan, IA, Mark (Julie) Fields of Cedar Rapids, IA, Sandra Fields (& Jeff Heins of Lamont, IA; 17 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; and 5 great great grandchildren; and one sister, Shirley Nash of Cherry Valley, IA.

He is also preceded in death by his parents; and one grandson, Derek Arensdorf on August 24, 2008.
