James Henry Schultz, 82, of Dubuque died Sunday, October 5, 2025.  Private family services will be held.

James was born July 3, 1943 in Dubuque, son of Anton and Evelena (Hayes) Schultz.  He grew up in Holy Cross and graduated from Holy Cross Leo.

He served in the Iowa Army Nation Guard from 1962 to 1968.

On November 21, 1981 he married Barbara Lemm in Dubuque.

Jim sold Lifetime Stainless Steel for a number of years. He owned and operated Schultz Lawn Care and Snow Removal until his retirement in 2001.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara of Dubuque; two sons, Michael of Omaha and his children, Cody and Madison, and Craig of Washington DC; his stepchildren, Debra (John) Bacon and their children, Haley (Kyle) Conway and Ethan Bacon, all of Phoenix, AZ and David (Kelly) Lemm and their children, Mason, Alyvia and Maxwell, all of Dubuque; and his sister, Marge.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and brother in law, Ruth and Robert Baumgartner, brother in law James Schirmer and many aunts and uncles.

The Egelhof, Siegert and Casper Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
