Jeana M. Simon

Jeana M. Simon, 33 of Dubuque, Iowa passed away Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Mercy Medical Center in Dubuque, Iowa, after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by her family.
Friends and relatives may call from 2 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, January 24, 2018. at the Reiff Funeral Home in Farley, Iowa, where a wake service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friends may also call after 9 a.m., Thursday at the funeral home.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, January 25, 2018 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Farley, Iowa with Rev. Michael Schueller Presiding. Burial will be held in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Farley, Iowa.

She was born March 13, 1984 in Dubuque, Iowa, daughter of Robert L. and Connie F. (Augustin) Simon. She received her education in the St. Joseph’s school in Keywest and attended Northeast Iowa Community College in Peosta. She was employed as a Lab Technician for Dairy Lab Services in Dubuque. She had a great love for all God’s creatures great or small. One of her greatest joys was spending time on the farm milking the cows and spending time with her many nieces and nephews.

She is survived by her parents, Connie Simon (and friend, Jay Williams) of Keywest, IA and Robert “Bob” Simon (and friend, Fern Ritter) of Lewiston, MN; her siblings, Janelle (Kurt) Hess of Sherrill, IA, Robby “Duke” (Nichole) Simon of Dubuque, Joni (Don) Ritter of Lewiston, MN, Randy “Buck” (Elley) Simon of Dubuque, IA and Jessalyn (Michael) McDermott of Farley, IA; her maternal grandparents, Don and Dorothy Augustin of Dubuque, IA; her nieces and nephews, Taya and Morgan Hess, Mackenzie Simon, Corey, Carley and Brandon Ritter, Jack, Madelyn, Ruby, Stella, and Kipton Simon, Sydney McDermott, Evelyn Jarding, Amelia and Eleanor McDermott, and along with numerous aunts, uncles and cousins and her beloved cat, Lenny.

She is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Ralph “Whitey” and Evelyn Simon and a nephew, Carter Simon.

A special thanks to all those who journeyed alongside Jeana through her battle with cancer. For all the love and support from those were touched by her infectious smile and contagious laugh.
