Jeanne P. Beeghley

Jeanne P. Beeghley, 93, of Dubuque, died on Sunday, June 1, 2025, at Grand Meadows in Asbury.

There will be a celebration of Jeanne’s life at a later date.

Private burial will be in Linwood Cemetery.

Jeanne was born February 9, 1932, in Woodbine, IA, the daughter of Lyle and Mabel Maxwell Poe. On November 16, 1952, she married Kenneth Beeghley in Woodbine.  He died December 20, 1994.

Jeanne was a teacher and later worked for Ludovissy Insurance.

Jeanne was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, where her faith and community spirit shone brightly. She generously gave her time volunteering at Luther Manor, Mount Pleasant Home, and the Discovery Shop, touching many lives with her kindness. An exceptional cook, Jeanne loved exploring new recipes and could often be found leafing through cookbooks in search of her next culinary adventure. In her leisure time, she found great joy in playing bridge, reading, and traveling-pursuits that reflected her sharp mind and adventurous spirit.

Survivors include three daughters, Jan (Greg) Hatter of NC, Mari Lea (John) Riley of Dubuque, and Paula Dix of Davenport; six grandchildren, Lindsay, Chelsea, Taylor, Brooke, Jordan and Courtney; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Marly Abbott of West Des Moines, many nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and one sister.

Jeanne’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Grand Meadows, Hospice of Dubuque, and Finley Hospital for their compassionate care and unwavering support.  Also a special thank you to her longtime neighbors and friends.
