Jeffrey Hinzman

Jeffery Hinzman, 49, of Dubuque passed away unexpectedly on February 21, 2023.

A visitation will be held from 10:00am-12:45pm, Saturday, February 25, 2023 at the Egelhof, Siegert and Casper Funeral Home and Crematory, 2659 JFK Road, Dubuque. Memorial services will immediately follow at 1:00pm at the funeral home. Fr. Kevin Goodrich, OP, Pastor of St. John’s Episcopal Church, Dubuque, will be officiating.

Jeff was born on July 22, 1973 to Ronald and Peggy (Holthaus) Hinzman.

He graduated from Hempstead High School in Dubuque.

Jeff worked at Premier Tooling and then Dubuque Stamping Company as a press operator. His declining health kept him from continuing his career in the factories so he started his own business from home, Jeff’s car Customizing & Detailing & Home Theater installs.

Jeff enjoyed all things cars. He started his own car club called Xlusive Rides which later became Xlusive Riders Cruising Car Club. He was president of the Iowa chapter of Michigan Rowlerz car club called Iowa Rowlerz. Jeff loved attending car shows and was very proud of all his trophies and the friends he made at various car shows throughout the Midwest.

In his free time, he loved cheering on Nascar drivers, Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Sr. He was also an avid San Francisco 49er’s fan.

Jeff’s greatest joy was spending time with his friends and family. In July 2003 he met his significant other Melinda and together built a life together full of love and devotion. In December 2004 they welcomed a son, Geoffrey into that love.

Jeff is survived by his mother, Peggy (significant other Bob Schroeder) Hinzman of Dubuque; significant other, Melinda Morong; and his son, Geoffrey Hinzman. He is also survived by his aunt and uncle, Burton (Terry) Davis of Earlville, Iowa; and cousin, Jennie (Gus) Felicinao of Libby, Montana.

Jeff was preceded in death by his in-laws, Mary (Joe) Morong, uncle, Terry (Connie) Holthaus, and grandparents, Betty (Richard) Davis.

A Jeffery Hinzman memorial fund has been established.
