Joy M. Crimmins
Joy Michelle Crimmins, 46, of Dubuque, beloved daughter of Vince and Jackie Crimmins, transitioned to her Heavenly home while surrounded by her family, on Thursday, August 8, 2024, at the Unity Point Health-Finley Hospital in Dubuque.
Visitation will be from 2:00 pm until 7:00 pm Sunday, August 11, 2024 at Hoffmann Schneider & Kitchen Funeral Home & Crematory.
The Mass of Christian Burial for Joy will be 10:00 am Monday, August 12, 2024, at St. Anthony Catholic Church with Father Steven Rosonke as the Celebrant. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery in Dubuque.
Joy was born October 26, 1977, in Dubuque, IA, the daughter of Vincent M. and Jacqueline M. Rogers Crimmins.
She was a Hempstead High School graduate.
Joy was a radiant spirit whose presence brought warmth and affection to everyone she encountered. Known for her endless capacity for love and her fondness for giving hugs, Joy had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel cherished and special. She had a natural gift for connecting with others and never met a stranger. Solving math problems and engaging in volunteer work showcased her bright mind and generous heart. Joy found great happiness in her time spent with her peers at Goodwill and Hills & Dales, where she shared her kindness and enthusiasm. Joy’s legacy is one of love, kindness, and genuine connections. She touched the lives of many, leaving behind a trail of warm memories and lasting impressions.
Survivors include her mother, Jackie Crimmins of Dubuque; three siblings, Jill M. (Donny Sendt) Crimmins of Dubuque, Vincent M. Crimmins, Jr. of Dallas, TX, and Valaine M (Josh Birch) Crimmins of Dubuque; nieces and nephews, Sydney and Alex Clendenen, Sophie and Weston Haefner, Sawyer Scales, Vincent III, Sammie, Violet, and Vinson Crimmins; three great-nieces and nephews and one more on the way; several aunts and uncles; and her best friend, Becky.
She was preceded in death by her father, her grandparents, and one sister, Sianne Crimmins.
In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established for Hills and Dales and St. Anthony Catholic Church.
Joy’s family expresses their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who walked with Joy through her life, especially Dianne, her friends at Hills & Dales, and the St. Anthony Parish community.
