Joyce M. Rohling
Joyce M. Rohling, 81, of Lost Nation, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at the Rehabilitation Center of Lisbon in Lisbon, Iowa.
A mass celebrating her life will be held at 11 A.M., Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at Our Lady of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Lost Nation. Visitation will be held prior to the funeral from 9:30 A.M to 11 A.M. at the church. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Lost Nation, Iowa.
Joyce Marie Seiler was born on April 9, 1942 in Maquoketa, Iowa, to Melvin and Freida Marie (Clark) Seiler. She was a 1960 graduate of Maquoketa High School. She married John A. Rohling on April 8, 1967 in Maquoketa, Iowa. One daughter was born to this union, Mary Beth.
Joyce was a homemaker and an active and devout member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Lost Nation. She also helped with the assembly of the Community Scoop newspaper in Lost Nation. She enjoyed playing cards, putting puzzles together, entertaining friends, watching western movies and NFL football.
Those left to honor her memory include a daughter and son-in-law, Mary Beth and Todd Berner of Lost Nation, IA; 3 grandchildren, Shannon (Abby O’Neill) Stecklein, Shane Stecklein, and Kathleen “Katie” Stecklein; 1 great-grandchild, Aubrey Stecklein; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Joe and Bev Rohling of Lost Nation, IA, and Judy Neis of FL. She was preceded in death by her parents Melvin and Marie Seiler, her husband John on October 1, 2015, and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Wilfred and Mary Kathleen Rohling.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a Joyce M. Rohling memorial fund has been established.
