Judith M. Howe
Judith Mae Howe, 81, of Dubuque, passed away on December 13, 2023.
Visitation will be from 4:00-6:00p.m., Friday, December 15, 2023 where a prayer service will be held at 6:00p.m. at the Egelhof, Siegert and Casper Funeral Home and Crematory, 2659 JFK Road, Dubuque, Iowa. In keeping with Judy’s wishes, a private funeral service will be held with burial in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
Judith was born in Dubuque, Iowa on May 22, 1942, to Loyal Albert and Bernice Irene (Bennett) Nelson.
She graduated from The Academy of the Visitation which was a source of great pride, life-long friends, and stories.
Judy was a homemaker who enjoyed carrying on many rich family traditions. She loved cooking, artistic endeavors such as painting, watching wildlife, and caring for her many beloved pets. Judy took great pleasure in having kissed the Blarney Stone and embracing the Irish in her. She was a longtime member of Resurrection Catholic Church and when her children grew-up she transferred her love of children to working at Resurrection School for decades as a teacher aide.
Judy is survived by her children, Jeffrey David of Elk Grove Village, IL, Joseph Robert (Tonya) Howe of Dubuque, IA, and Brian John (Kendra) Howe of Sioux City, IA. She is also survived by twenty beloved grandchildren, and nine cherished great-grandchildren with one on the way.
She was preceded in death by her parents, endeared sisters and brother, and a great-grandchild.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given to the Dubuque Regional Humane Society.
