Karen A. Seeley, 82, passed away on September 7, 2025, at Luther Manor – Grand Meadows Senior Living in Asbury, Iowa.

Friends and family may visit from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. on Friday, September 12, 2025, at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road. A Funeral Service will begin at 12:00 p.m. with Sr. Margaret Anne Kramer officiating. Entombment will be at a later date at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Dubuque.

Karen was born on December 17, 1942, in Dubuque, Iowa, the daughter of Reynold “Ray” and Agnes (Gotto) Kramer. Karen graduated from the Visitation in 1961. After graduation she married Karl Jones and together they had three sons: Kevin, Timothy, and Sean. Karen was later united in marriage to James Seeley in Dubuque, and together they had a daughter, Heather. Karen worked over 40 years for Dr. Wm McCoy as a dental assistant and office manager.

After retirement, Karen enjoyed working a part time job in the St. Columbkille lunchroom for the grade school children. Karen enjoyed making homemade bread and cinnamon rolls. She had large gardens and canned her favorite foods for the winter months. Her love of holiday decorations and having “larger than life” meals for the family is a memory we cherish.

She is survived by her sons, Kevin (Susan) Jones of Swisher, Iowa, Timothy Jones of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Sean Jones of Waterloo, Iowa; daughter, Heather (Michael) Henry; one stepchild Jim (Mary); five grandchildren; four step grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two step great grandchildren;  brother Joe (Judy) Kramer of Muscatine, Iowa; sister Mary (Bob) Hood in Ankeny, Iowa; and sister-in-law Pat Kramer of Dubuque, Iowa.
