Karen J. Fishnick

Karen J. Fishnick of Mountain City, TN, formerly of Dubuque, IA went to be with her heavenly Father on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at Mountain City Care & Rehabilitation. To honor Karen’s life, family and friends may visit from 9 AM to 10:30 AM on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main Street. Funeral services will be held immediately following visitation at 10:30 AM with the Reverend Leah Barker officiating. A burial will follow at the Dubuque Memorial Gardens. Behr Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Karen was born October 3, 1947, in Dubuque, IA, daughter of the late Paul & Lois (Blakeman) Keck.
Karen graduated from Dubuque Senior High School, Class of 1965. She married Bernard (Bernie) Fishnick on November 27, 1965, at The First Church of the Nazarene, Dubuque, IA. They were truly blessed with 3 children, a bonus daughter & 58 years together. Karen was a devoted full-time wife, mother, and grandmother.

Karen was a dedicated member of The Church of the Nazarene, serving the Lord through her membership, leadership & community outreach.  She lovingly opened her heart & home to countless foster babies and children. In her younger years Karen enjoyed bowling with the Fishnick’s. She loved lighthouses. She loved crafting things from crocheting to painting. Above all, Karen loved spending time with her family.

Caleb Fishnick, Ashley (fiancé Johnathan) Kuhle and Gabriel (fiancé Thien) Bisanz.

A great grandson due in October.

She was preceded in death by her parents & her grandparents William & Sarah Blakeman.

The family would like to thank Izzy Wilkerson, Home Health Aide, Four Oaks Healthcare Center of Jonesborough, TN, Mountain City Care & Rehabilitation of Mountain City, TN and Caris Healthcare Hospice of Johnson City, TN for the care they provided for their mother.
