After high school, Kenneth embarked on a career spanning over four decades with Alcoa in Riverdale, Iowa, where he was a respected forklift operator. His love for the land led him to farm with his father, and in 1968, he and Mary Jo purchased land near Delmar, where he farmed until 1996.
A man of faith, Kenneth was a devoted member of First Lutheran Church in Maquoketa. In retirement, he found joy in giving back to his community as an active member of the Delmar Lions Club. He was particularly passionate about the Delmar Lions Blood Drive, among other projects. Kenneth’s hobbies included woodworking and exploring estate sales to find hidden treasures.
