Kevin Lynn Brown, 71, of Bellevue, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 26, 2026.

Visitation will be 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm, Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at Hachmann-Mier Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Bellevue, followed by Graveside Services at 3:30 pm in St. John’s Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Kevin was born May 24, 1954, in Bellevue Memorial Hospital to Vernon Carl and Dessell Belle (Hachmann) Brown. He graduated from Bellevue Public High School in 1972, then attended NICC, the University of Dubuque, and later earned a master’s degree in accounting from the University of Iowa.

Kevin chose to return to his roots and farm following the passing of his parents. He had a deep appreciation for agricultural history, especially collecting Oliver tractors. He restored and donated an Oliver 900 to the Tractor Museum in Charles City, Iowa.

Kevin was active in his community, serving as President of the Eastern Iowa Hay Producers Association, serving as Assistant  Commissioner on the NRCS Board, and working as a board member and treasurer for the Jackson County Historical Society.

Survivors include his twin sister, Karen Brown; an uncle, Grant (Jean) Hachmann; cousins, Troy Hachmann, Todd (Jennifer) Hachmann, Sue Bevan, Bill (Kim) Bevan, Steve (Roxy) Hachmann, Stuart (Peggy) Hachmann, and Stan (Shirley) Hachmann; along with many extended relatives and friends.

Kevin was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Curtis (Rita) Brown.

Memorials may be directed to the University of Dubuque or the Jackson County Historical Society in Kevin’s memory.
