Kimberly A. Kroll

Kimberly Ann Kroll “Mimi” 57, of East Dubuque, passed away on Wednesday September 10, 2025, with her loving family by her side at home.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Monday, September 15, 2025 and from 9:15 – 10:15 a.m. on Tuesday at the Miller Funeral Home in East Dubuque, IL, where funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., with Deacon Mike Timmerman officiating. Burial will be held in the East Dubuque Cemetery.

Kim was born on May 5, 1968, in Dubuque, Iowa, daughter of Bob and Barb Kroll. She graduated from East Dubuque High School in 1986 and was formerly employed at Eagle Ridge Resort in Galena, Illinois.

Kim loved being out on the river, skating, dancing and enjoyed spending time with her friends and family- especially her niece, Tiffany.

Kim’s biggest desire was to become a mother and on July 12, 1988, she welcomed her little girl. Shortly after the birth of her daughter, Kim suffered several strokes that left her totally disabled. Kim was able to remain home for 37 years due to the diligent care of her loving parents Barb and Bob, where she could continue watching her daughter grow up and welcome 4 grandchildren, who were her pride and joy. Although she could not do things that many of us take for granted, she was still able to express love for family, her sense of humor with any Adam Sandler movie and laugh at the dirty jokes she so much enjoyed from her favorite brother-in-law, Mark.

Kim is survived by her daughter Jessica (Levi) Esser, her four grandchildren – Liam, Mia, Ellie, and Finn Esser of East Dubuque, parents Bob and Barb Kroll, a sister Shelley (Mark) Koeller of East Dubuque, a niece Tiffany (Nick) Heitkamp of Menominee, a nephew Justin (Victoria) Koeller of Dubuque, 4 great nieces, Ava, Taryn and Violet Heitkamp and Blaire Koeller,  2 great nephews, Layne Heitkamp and Jay Koeller, aunts, uncles and cousins. Kim was proceeded in death by grandparents Florence and Harold Redman, Winfield “Bing” and Estelyn “Sis” Kroll, step grandmother Agnes Kroll, and longtime friend Kim Muntz who was a loving and loyal friend to the end.

The family would like to thank Finley hospital- with very special thanks to Diane, the 5th floor nursing department, and chaplains for their compassion and outstanding care.
