Linda was born on April 21, 1957, in Dubuque, Iowa, to Robert and Lois (Cooley) Hedley Sr. She attended Stephen Hempstead High School and married Mark Griffin on November 10, 1974, at First Baptist Church in Dubuque. Throughout her career, Linda served as the assistant general manager at the Dubuque Inn and later as an administrative assistant at Weber Paper Company.
Deeply involved in her community, Linda was a proud member of the Dubuque Bowling Association and was honored with induction into the Dubuque Bowling Hall of Fame. She also served as a junior bowling league coordinator and was on the board for the Girls Independent Softball League.
Linda was known for her vibrant personality and warm spirit—she never left a gathering without making a new friend. A natural leader, she was the kind of person who stepped up and took charge. Family meant everything to her. She had a special love for babies and children, always gravitating toward them at events. Linda brought joy wherever she went and was a steadfast supporter of her grandchildren, cheering them on in every endeavor—rain, snow, or sleet.
Linda is survived by her husband Mark, their three children Jodi (Paul) Rusch, Sara (Luke) Runde, and Lisa (Carson) Hattel, seven grandchildren Alisha, Jordan, Melanie, Marissa, Emma, Hannah, and Addison, siblings Mary Jo (Gary) Kircher, Fred (Cathy) Hedley, Jim (Joleen) Hedley, and Jay (Patti) Hedley, mother-in-law Mary Rote, and siblings-in-law Marty (Linda) Griffin and Debbie (Lloyd) Droessler.
She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings Robert Hedley Jr. and Cindy (Art) Wagar, and her father-in-law Tom Griffin.
The family extends their heartfelt thanks to Cozy Corner and its staff, Hospice of Dubuque, the Northeast Iowa Area Agency on Aging, the Dubuque Jule bus service, and especially Hospice of St. Croix for their compassionate care, unwavering support, and love until the very end.
In lieu of flowers, a Linda K. Griffin memorial fund has been established.
