Lora Morris Shain Weir, 82, of Athens, Georgia, formerly of Shullsburg, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully with family by her side on November 2, 2021, at Whispering Pines Assisted Living in Athens. A private family burial was held on November 4, 2021, where a Farewell Toast of Life Gathering was held at Jubilee Community in Comer, Georgia.

Lora was born on August 7, 1939, to Earl and Margaret (Christopher) Morris of Shullsburg, Wisconsin. She attended Shullsburg High School and graduated in 1957. She married Bill Shain in April 1958, at St. Matthew’s Church in Shullsburg. They were blessed with six children who all reside in Georgia. In 2009 Lora married Ed Weir in Athens, Georgia.

Lora worked as a volunteer with Open Door Community for many years and was honored to be a member of Georgia Community Against the Death Penalty. Lora was also honored for outstanding volunteerism in central Georgia. Lora was loved by all who worked with her.

Survivors include her children, Christine, David, Mike, Steve, Anne and Kevin; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Pat Trish Gile, Cuba City, WI; the Weir children and grandchildren; and extended relatives in southwestern Wisconsin and Dubuque, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husbands, Bill in 1999 and Ed in 2017.
