Lori “Peanut” A. Jochum, 59, of Dubuque, Iowa, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family, on March 19, 2026, after a courageous battle with appendiceal cancer.  To honor Lori’s life, a visitation for family and friends will be held from 3:00-7:00 p.m., on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 1701 Rhomberg Avenue.  A private family committal service will be held at Mount Calvary Cemetery with Deacon John Stierman officiating.  The Tri-State Cremation Center is humbly serving Lori’s family.

Peanut was born on July 2, 1966, in Dubuque, Iowa, the daughter of Wayne and DeLee (Strohmeyer) Jochum. She graduated from Hempstead High School in 1984.

Peanut spent many years working at Eagles Country Market in the produce department, where she was known for her strong work ethic and friendly nature. She later found her true calling, dedicating 18 years at Holy Trinity Daycare, which later became the Holy Ghost Early Childhood Development Center. There, she touched the lives of countless children and families through her compassion, patience, and genuine love for caring for others.

Above all, Peanut cherished her role as “Nana.” She found her greatest joy in spending time with her children and grandchildren, creating lasting memories filled with love and laughter.

Peanut was a deeply loving mother, grandmother, and friend to many. She will be remembered for her kind heart, her selfless spirit, and the way she always put others before herself. Her love was constant, generous, and unconditional, and her presence will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.

Peanut is survived by her children, Emily Fink, Ryan (Charlea) Jochum and Randa (Logan) Oltmanns, all of Dubuque; her beloved grandchildren, Cameron, Carly, Cayson, Carsten, Evelyn, Nolan, Graelynn, Jeremiah, Bryson, Easton, Dax, Harper, and Malakai, who is still on the way; her mother, DeLee Jochum of Dubuque; her siblings, Jeff (Judy) Jochum, Wendy (Troy) Lampers, both of Dubuque, Don (Beth) Jochum of Rochester, Minnesota, and Jayne (Paul) Lynch of Platteville, Wisconsin; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Lori was preceded in death by her father.

In lieu of flowers, a Lori A. Jochum memorial fund has been established.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Hospice of Dubuque for their compassionate care and support during this time.
