Luanne Stella Norton, 86, of Dubuque, died Saturday, October 5, 2024, at the Grand Meadows in Asbury.

A Celebration of Luanne’s Life will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Anamosa, IA. 

Luanne was born January 31, 1938, in Lamont, IA, the daughter of Gerhardt and Elsie (Martens) Buscher. On August 1, 1959, she married Donald  F. Norton in Anamosa. He preceded her in death on June 23, 1997.

She was a teacher at Washington Junior High.

Survivors include her three children, Craig Norton of Dubuque, Brock (Beth) Norton of Dexter, IA, and Chrysanne (Ron) Reding of Dubuque; and two grandchildren, Alexa and Landry.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and four brother-in-laws, Billy, Steve, and Dennis Norton and Bob Brunscheen.

Luanne’s family would like to extend a special Thank You to Luther Manor Grand Meadows and Hospice of Dubuque for their care and support.

In lieu of flowers a scholarship in Luanne’s name will be given to a deserving Anamosa High School 2025 senior. A check donation can be made to Luanne Norton Fund and mailed to 1694 Avoca Street, Dubuque, Iowa 52001, or Venmo @Beth-norton-11 with subject “Scholarship”.
