MaDonna M. Garien, 87, of the Preston and Clinton area, passed away, Monday, March 17, 2025 at the Mill Valley Care Center, Bellevue, Iowa.

MaDonna was born December 3, 1937 in the Green Island, Iowa area, to John P. and Irma E. (Kanneberg) Schreiber.  MaDonna grew up in the Green Island and Sabula area.  She went to school in the Sabula area.  She married Charles E. Garien in June of 1958. He preceded her in death on November 17, 1998.

MaDonna enjoyed putting puzzles together and playing bingo. 

Those left to honor her memory include children Cindy Schreiber (late Steve) Daniels and Linda (Gary) Manning of Maquoketa, Iowa, James Garien of Camanche, Iowa, and Kelly Garien of Clarinda, Iowa; 14 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and 8 great – great grandchildren; and a sister Sherry (John) Campbell of Maquoketa.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Charles; 3 sons, Wayne, Chuck, and Craig; daughter Kristy; and 3 brothers Kenny, David, and Cecil.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A private family graveside service will be held at a later date at the Andrew Cemetery, Andrew, Iowa.

Memorials may be directed to the family care of Carson Celebration of Life Center, Maquoketa, Iowa or to the Hospice of Jackson County.
