Margaret J. Wheeler, 82, of Bernard, Iowa, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Sunday, August 30, 2026.

Margaret Jean Schwendinger was born November 9, 1943, in Dubuque, Iowa, to John and Louise (Noessen) Schwendinger.  She was united in marriage to Ronald B. Wheeler (Duffy) on November 18, 1961, at Trinity Church in Dubuque, and was his loving wife for over sixty – five years.  Together they raised three children; Ron, Angela, and Tina.

Margie dedicated her life to healthcare work as a nurse’s aid in many facilities around the Dubuque area.  She was well known for her cooking, crocheting, her smile and happiness, and the way she always treated everyone with kindness.

Margaret is survived and lovingly remembered by her husband Ronald B. Wheeler of Bernard, IA; her children Ron (Megan) Wheeler of Evansville, WI, Angela Frommelt of Maquoketa, IA, and Tina (John) Myers of Swedesburg, IA; 12 grandchildren; 24, great grandchildren; sister Mary Hoskins of Dubuque; and brother Maurice (Bev) Schendinger of Dewitt, IA.  Margaret was preceded in death by her parents and sisters Teresa Saunders, Rita Stevenson, and Susan Bender.

At Peace Cremation Services have been provided by Carson Celebration of Life Center, Maquoketa, IA.
